How to determine glibc version

If you need to know the installed version of your glibc library you can simply call the library like a programm:
/lib/libc.so.6

This will give you an output like:
GNU C Library stable release version 2.7, by Roland McGrath et al.
Copyright (C) 2007 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
This is free software; see the source for copying conditions.
There is NO warranty; not even for MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
